Hope For the Journey
Gal. 5:6 says “What is important is faith expressing itself in love.” In the chaos of the world we are living in today this verse says it all. True faith is not merely an intellectual assent or adherence to religious law, but an active, living faith that manifests in love for others. This love is not just an emotion but a deliberate act of selflessness, kindness, and compassion that reflects the heart of God. In this way, faith is proven genuine when it is accompanied by love, which is the highest expression of God’s will for humanity.
This verse serves as a powerful reminder that the essence of Godly living is relational rather than ritualistic. The apostle Paul, who wrote this letter to the Galatians, was addressing a community that was struggling with the temptation to rely on legalistic observance of the law for righteousness. Paul redirects their focus, teaching that what truly matters is not the external compliance with religious norms, but the internal transformation that results in love-driven actions. This verse calls believers to evaluate their faith by how it is expressed in their relationships with others, reminding them that love is the true fulfillment of the law and the clearest evidence of a faith that is alive and active.
This is my call to action for each of you. May your lives pour out the love of God into your communities and families. Don’t let the media or this crazy culture based on ‘me, me, and more me’ distract you from your calling or change who you are as a child of the Most High God.
