Hope for the Journey—Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.”  I love this promise.  However, like all of God’s promises I have learned that I have a part to play in its fulfillment.  God always wants to come first in our lives.  He says in Exodus “you will NOT have any other gods before Me.”  Unfortunately, the world around us encourages us to put fun, pleasure, money, business, and all sorts of other things before God.  I have found that the key to seeing Proverbs 16:3 fulfilled in my life is to go to God first every morning and ask Him to take control of my wants, my desires, my schedule, even my chance encounters throughout the day.  Then I commit my entire day’s plans to Him and ask Him to make them succeed.  When I ask Him to give me His desires and plans after I have first chosen to ‘delight’ and spend time with Him I not only see these plans that He has given me succeed but I also, see fulfillment of the promise in Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Why don’t you try this plan in your life today?  Even if you don’t really know who God is, just ask Him to show Himself to you.  This is a request I have never seen denied.  As you get to know Him be sure to invite Him into all areas of your life and you will see unbelievable successes drop into your lap.  Things you never even dreamed about being able to achieve will begin happening for you.  Ephesians 3:20 says talking about God “He who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us.”
