"My Cup Runs Over"
David said, "My cup runs over." Ps. 23:5 NKJV He was recounting the blessings of God in one of his most famous psalms. I think it is interesting that no matter how big our need or our capacity to receive, God's blessings are greater! What a good thing it is that God doesn't limit Himself to only giving us the blessings we ask for or base the size of the blessing on the size of our belief. He tells us in Eph. 3:20 that He gives "exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or imagine." God's blessings are bigger even than anything we can imagine!
How wonderful that our God doesn't stop pouring out His blessings into our lives when our cup gets full. He continues to pour until our cup is running over. Why not spend a few minutes today thanking Him not only for what He has done for you in the past, but thank Him now for the running-over blessings that He will be pouring into your life tomorrow? Let Him know that you are resting in anticipation of what He is going to do for you tomorrow. There is joy and peace in knowing that the Creator of the universe has running-over blessings coming your way.
If you are going through a dry spell in life right now, don't waste time and energy bemoaning your current circumstances. Instead, do two things. First of all, thank God for the blessings that are coming your way soon and then secondly, get busy finding someone else to bless. This formula has worked for me over and over in my life. Thank God for the unimagined blessings that are coming and then spend what time and energy you have finding someone else to bless. You will find that your joy will begin to bubble up as you bless others. This seems to open the doors of heaven for God's blessings to roll down on you and it takes your mind off of your negative circumstances while you wait.
God is faithful. I will quote again one of my favorite promises, Jer. 29:11 "I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Trust God and you will find your life running over again with His favor, anointing, and blessing.
